As president & CEO of Aquila, Yvan Miklin is responsible for national & international strategies, day- to-day operations and development of Aquila’s management & consulting businesses. 

Miklin founded the company in 1993 to assist health & fitness businesses in solving average to complex tasks associated with fitness, sports & wellness turn-key management operations.  He spent the first five years of his career working as Program Manager for "New York Sports Clubs", a division of Town Sports International (TSI) in New York, NY and Wellness & Fitness Consultant for the CIGNA Corporation's "Working Well" Wellness Center in Philadelphia, PA.  Furthermore, he held several fitness management & programming positions with The Sporting Clubs of America, Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. 

Miklin earned an undergraduate degree in International Business & Finance Administration from The Fox School of Business & Management, Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.  He is Health & Fitness Instructor Certified ® by American College of Sports Medicine.  Miklin is an active member of American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) & American Council on Exercise (ACE) and has presented on a range of health & fitness subjects for University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Recreation & the Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.

Miklin is a member of the US Department of Defense-Department of Army panel in Atlanta, GA  which evaluates on military police fitness program design & implementation.  Furthermore, he is a Board Member and Advisor to the Medical Wellness Association (MWA) Board. 

In 1997, he served as a regional co-Chair for Beckman Research Institute & City of Hope National Medical Center where he received a regional achievement award. In addition, he received a Certificate of Professional Recognition for commitment to a high standard of excellence in health & fitness education by the IDEA (The Health & Fitness Source). 

A native of Zagreb, Croatia, Miklin is fluent in Croatian and other Slavic languages and has extensive knowledge in French and German. He has consulted on various projects in  Europe & South America.

Vinny Bhutani, MD, FAAP

Dr. Bhutani provides strategic management leadership and development of Aquila’s health and wellness education.  Dr. Bhutani is a Clinical Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA & a respiratory physiologist with a post-doctorate from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. Furthermore, he is a practicing intensivist-neonatologist at Pennsylvania Hospital, The Nation’s First Hospital.

Dr. Bhutani has concurrent academic appointments and teaching responsibilities at the University of Pennsylvania Health System and on the Associated Faculty at the School of Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania.  Moreover, he held the adjunct appointment in the Department of Physiology at Temple University. Through the International medical education at University of Pennsylvania, he has led academic exchange programs and international outreach education in the area of Health and Society.  Furthermore, Dr. Bhutani was the recipient of many prestigious international awards which to include: The Well-Spring Award, The Eglin Award and BIND/Kernicterus Fund Award.

Dr. Bhutani has actively promoted community based outreach education and research in his role as a board member for several non-governmental health organizations.
His interests are in respiratory physiology, resuscitation, ventilation, non-invasive testing technologies and clinical research. These have been topics of extensive research with over a hundred original research publications and invited international lectures over the past 15 years.

Jill Wickman, CSCS

Jill Wickman oversees new client integration services, project management & operations and human resources management. Prior to joining Aquila, Ms.Wickman held several senior club management positions including the OMNI Shoreham Spa & Sports Club with WTS International and The Madison Hotel Fitness Center, both in Washington, DC. Furthermore, she made significant contributions while involved in The Women’s Exercise Research Center of the George Washington University in Washington, DC.  Ms. Wickman served as Aquila’s Project Manager for the U.S. Treasury, Bureau of Engraving & Printing Fitness Center and helped re-engineer its fitness programs.

Ms.Wickman received a Bachelor of Education in Exercise Science and Fitness Management from the University of Dayton, OH.  She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and a Certified Personal Trainer by the American Council on Exercise (ACE).  Moreover she is a Certified Pool Operator and a Certified Pilates Mat Instructor.
